goddamn that was such a gnarly game 3! it almost felt like inno was baiting snute into attacking the terran base. this left less for the defense. and on even bases, the terran's mules speak loudly but also briefly.
inno moved quickly, therefore, and spent all his money on building his army. and i mean all: he didn't even bother to rebuild the wall off. being an upgrade up with mules, he figured he had enough momentum to maximize his temporary advantages. swarming in with his marines, at one point being 3 upgrades up!, he found good damage. not only that, but snute's army was divided. several zerglings were swarming inno's base. this siphoned off the zerg defense!
as terran reinforcements arrived, the 1 attack advantage combined with greater numbers allowed inno to perform some surgical micro to bring down the house. at one point, he gunned down about 6 slow banelings before they could detonate. that was lights out for the zerg.
on the other side of the map, the counter 'ling attack had been quelled by a troop of marines ensconced between mineral patches and a geyser. gg.
despite the strategic victory, you couldn't also help but feel that it was also a brazen one. would inno have been so bold, baiting with his base, gambling on a short term advantage, were he playing rogue? in game 2, he solely built hellions and cyclones for the entire game, resulting in a solid loss. you can imagine inno thinking after that loss, with his trademark smirk, "i'm just fuckin' with yaaaa'!"
