Linear builds such as these presented by Naniwa are really an embarrassment to the RTS community as a whole. So clearly predetermined, no ad hoc capacity...it's frankly pathetic to watch by the fourth loss.

Really disapointing finals by both players. Naniwa was doing the same thing over and over. Sooo predictable and sooo "not Naniwa" style. He used to have some very smart builds in the past. On the other hand Leenock was nothing more than Zerg cheese, from 6pool to roach-ling all-in. Soo disapointing series. Very unimaginative players. Thunbs down for both of them.

zerg cheese anyone? wtf how about overlord before pool blizz? muahaha gay games

Didn't knew Leenock, damn gg man!

Stayed up till 2:30AM too see Naniwa loose his 2 'game points'. I didn't think Leenock would win 4 games straight though! What a baller to beat Naniwa who looked so strong this entire tournament. gg's.

I just think it's to bad that a 7 th fake game was added... you more or less know the results after game 3 since it's only 6 games. And by game 4 you know for sure. = /
Comment # 9 by Vasadu
Was NOT added of course

Feels like I watched the same thing 4 times in a row. Forcefields were the only good part.

@Vasadu Updated to 7 games, but wasn't the final just 2 best of 3s (hence 6 games in total)?
I would like to point out that during this MLG Providence (fri, sat, sun) Leenock had to play 39 games and he lost 5 of them. Naniwa had to play 13 games and he lost 6 of them.........................

Naniwa also played the Global invitational which took place there, which he won (beating Mvp and Nestea at the end).
Considering the players participating, winning the global invitational and then getting second (losing by one game) at the national championships during the same weekend is an awesome feature. So I am not sure why you are trying to do everything in your power to belittle Naniwas performance, even making up your own numbers.
leenock was not invited to the global invitational else he would have won that as well trollfacetrollface! no but seriously the main tournament is what matters (1st prize money 50k vs 5k). not trying to belittle naniwas performance, just pointing out leenock's. even if he had lost the finals i would have been more impressed by his run. and i'm not making up my own numbers? :s

Naniwa is just doing just about the only thing successfull Protoss can. Blizzard backed him into the corner he is fighting out of. I agree though that his style was too predictable in the end.

The more you guys comment on the game, the harder it will be for Tasteless to get the message that he should never use the phrase "nerd chills" again.

After all the shit Naniwa has said, including his trash talking of Nestea (lets see he win a single GSL - Afterall I love HuK over Idra because he has fucking manners), then; THEN! We saw his lame, linear builds smashed by a 16 year old. What do you do to beat Naniwa - Hatch cancel while he pumps out the same boring build in his comfort zone.
Naniwa (to his well deserved credit) took out Nestea, HuK and DRG. Leenock took out Haypro, Idra, MC, MMA, Boxer, Slush, HuK, MVP and DRG then came back from a losing position to win 4 games.
Who's laughing now?

Couldn't agree more NotInventedHere. I've disliked Naniwa for a long time already. He is very condescending, thinks too highly of himself and is just bm all around. He's unbearable in interviews almost to the point where it makes me angry to listen to his dribble.
It's very amusing to me to see him be so utterly destroyed game after game by Leenock. Naniwa isn't as great as he likes to think.

Well this was a major dissapointment, first of all, naniwa is a fantastic player but i dislike him ALOT, no manners all rage and ego, same as idra another good player but damn their builds are so boring to watch. very good micro though.
On the other hand about this finals, forge fast expand every time, counterd with a roach all in every time.
its like back to the freaking bronze league.

Well, it's very embarrassing for Leenock not being able to beat Naniwa in a straight up macro game.
Just shows how good Naniwa is.
To be honest, I think Naniwa should have changed up his play style, he was way to predictable.

^ if you look at any of Nanina vs Zerg (Nestea & DRG) match ups where zerg just decided to go macro, they would just get demolished by colossus + millions of forcefields in mid/late game.
Leenock seemed to hit that timing before those forcefields could become crippling in each crucial engagement. Forcefields are OP esp. against a race that relies on overwhelming and surrounding your army.
Naniwas should have realized his greedy predictable build wasn't working out against a zerg that played more aggresively. It's just like idra always going 14/15 hatch before pool - and it's safe to say almost every pro gamer knows hes going that build without the need to scout.
Lets face it...late game max army zerg vs any max terran/protoss army is something a zerg does not want.
