protoss is actually just fucking disgusting
this is why no one plays or watches this game anymore
game 4 was siiick, lol so fun
This reminds me of early broodwar games on the tiny blood bath map. That map was so small that even small levels of greed (prioritizing economy over army) went punished heavily. So a player NEVER built an expansion early on, or they'd straight up lose.
The first two games here won easily because Salvation blew $400 on a command center and hero scouted it immediately. He then did the best thing to punish it, which is to build a stargate to force him to split his army up to defend two spots.
So the reason he won had nothing to do with a race being overpowered, it had to do with straight up experience and execution.
Scouting a weakness > implement an aggressive plan to exploit > execution
Terran lacks the ability to exploit a greedy opening reactively. Say what you will, but the oracle is never a big risk. If you open oracle and the Terran player is prepared, you can still get your money's worth with solid unit control. If you open oracle and the Terran player is ill prepared, you've won, no unit control necessary
The race balance have been broken for awhile now. It's a very good game design when the Terran are often forced to pull all his workers just to be on-par or defeat the Protoss death ball, especially in pro-scenes. This is also bad for spectators as we basically only see the boring MMM worker pull vs Protoss many of the time. The mech TvP game in Broodwar is a lot more fun to watch in my opinion.
They also need to give early game aggression options back to Terran. In WOL, Protoss could go early nexus and Terran had the option to punish it with 2 or 3 rax aggression. However in HOTS, a quick 2 gate and the nexus canon shut all early Terran exploits out. Going Stargate should be huge investments, but now oracle has too much utility that it basically almost always pay for it self. It also does very well against marine.
lol look how cheesy protoss can be
This game highlights the broken-ness of TvP
Honestly....I don't like hating on casters, because I know their job is bad.
But Rifkin is easily one of the more frustrating/annoying casters to listen to.
It annoys me that they always get good games.
I felt like pulling my hair out many times throughout this cast. "The Ghost Academy is 40/40". Errr....it was really 1242/1250 that's why it didn't finish. We got the point...you don't need to scream in the mic and carry-on like a tween.
*end rant*
marcamillion... that comment is the 'king-maker'!
