Typical Soo to be honest. He was never good in these super late game deathball scenarios. It takes a Dark or Rogue to dismantle a comp like this.
Also, I really really (really) don't like Broods in most scenarios. They always seem like a massive waste of gas. I struggle to think of games where the Zerg didn't lose after going Broods...
It is Soo and he is obviously better than every other Zerg except for 2 maybe 3 others at most, but just for the sake of discussion: I was told the counter to mass ghost raven/liberator is actually just to stick on ling/bane (obviously with support units as well). Terran cannot kill all the Zerg units fast enough with this comp and, as NoRegret was saying, if you can get rid of the ghosts, it really swings the game back into your favor. You can't snipe down 40 banelings rolling towards your ghost clump.

I get that Zerg has been dominant in certain eras. But ghost/raven is just as stupid as infestor/broodlord. You just can't beat it unless you're Dark.

@Matthew But why would a Terran make Ghosts if there were no ultra's, infestors or Broods in the meta?
Well obviously it is a reaction, not a pre-planned strategy. It takes a while to build ghosts and you would still want an ultra den or greater spire anyway, for tech switches. If there are no ghosts, you can keep making the ultra and brood. If the T invested into a huge clump of ghosts, invest that gas into banes instead.
That is the idea anyway. I dunno, like I said I'm only reading this second hand, I don't know how worth it actually is.
Still, in theory it sounds way better to me than what Soo did here, which is basically sacrifice 3 huge waves of Broods without accomplishing anything.

Alright I see. Sounds like Swarmhosts would be a better switch for SoO then, instead of brood lords. They can't keep up the sustained damage of Broodlords, but aren't vulnerable to air or ghost snipes (assuming you keep the hosts at distance).
Swarmhosts have been a real "hit or miss" type of deal as well, sometimes they do wonders while in others they seem to not do much at all. But at least they seem to have a much higher survival rate when played properly (While no matter how well you play broodlords, you'll lose them in a straight up 200 vs 200 supply fight.

Yeah you would still need support units like swarmhosts or corruptors. The point of the banes is they cannot be sniped cost-effectively due to sheer numbers you can get. The ghosts either need to retreat (which save your support units), or stay and fight and ultimately get blown up.
Corruptor seems to do okay against mass raven once ghosts are out of the picture. Mass seeker missile is still stupid, but with a good spread and splits, corruptors seem to be able to outlive the energy of ravens, then can hunt them down.

Raven Ghost needed to go. I’m a Terran player even o could see that AAM was just broken.

That said, Soo did deserve to lose that game.

Yet having Swarm Hosts the way they were for pretty much the entire HotS expansion was fine?

That last game... I'm starting to miss David Kim.
Never thought I'd say that.
