I just can't believe Maru won that second game, I thought for sure, until like 2 minutes before it ended, that he had no chance.

Seriously!! Reynor should 've won that. TT But Maru 's been Maru. ;)

I'm still on team Maru ;)
Never got the appeal behind caring about where a player is from. I watch SC2 for good games. I'll watch Maru stomp foreigners all day.

So frustrating to watch those bunker rushes work, but I do not hate on the results. gg Maru looking forward to seeing Reynor at future GSLs. Maybe Super Tournament?

@matthew, you need to look up what "stomp" means, cause it doesn't mean "barely winning".

I meant in a general sense. You can't deny that the majority of the times when a foreigner gets a chance to actually play in Korea, they get pushed out with ease. Most games, the Korean just rushes and the foreigner can't survive past the 5 minute mark.
And yet I'm supposed to be hyped that a player is from the US or France or where ever else? Naw, I don't care where their from. If they get stomped, they are not in the same league.
Yes, Reynor is a bit of an exception. (Serral, too, of course. One of these seasons he should try playing in the GSL)

I mean, what is Dark's record against foreigners? Something like 92 and 1? That, my friend, is the definition of stomp.

@Matthew Sure, we all remember Lilbow vs Life.
I for one am excited about the rise of the new western players because I can relate to them more and the personality of the player matters to me. I don't think I would watch SC2 if it was played by super duper AIs that would stomp any human player.
But I get what you're saying. Still, your standards seem to be very high. Imo, any player in the RO16 is worth being excited about.

Agreed with aliosa here...

I don't think it is a matter of standards. I understand people get hype for foreigners and chances are I'm the odd one out. I was just saying I don't care where a player is from, personally. Nothing to do with robotic AI's or anything.
Then again, I was stationed in South Korea for quite a while, so perhaps I view Korean players differently than most people from the west.

I'm with Matthew on this.
ALSO:
I'm not as keen on foreigners, because so many of them are flash in the pans. Koreans are good and stay good. They may lose to a new strat here or there, but they are always back at it.
PLUS most foreigners (neeb aside) are zergs, slaves to the overmind and then after his glorious demise servants of that vile backstabbing traitor kerrigan. How many marines get left at watchtowers to die? And she acts like such a martyr.

@tommunation: your post was complete nonsense until the "PLUS". That's when you started making sense. I'm with you!

You can watch it here as well, but be advised, the quality (especially sound) is a bit lower...

But better than nothing, right? It seems the original got taken down because of music protection.

@skonja - no specific reason, there never seemed to be the need, you know?

I think I would still watch SC2 if there were powerful AI playing it against each other. It'd be entertaining. AI is not as one-dimensional as you think.
