Considering how these two both got spanked by Serral, it's starting to look like the GSL tournament is merely Just Another Tournament, and not the prestigious event that it once was. And the GSL winner merely a Paper Champion.
At least until he beats the real champ.

koreans are best at terran, which is why they suffer the worst nerfs. foreigners who win are usually zerg, and every korean already owns this game... sooooo... don't expect a nerf for zerg anytime soon, blizzard has more copies to sell.

The beauty of GSL is that players are able to prepare for matchups vs individual players — that alone makes it special. The semi-finals in particular made for awesome games because of this. I’m still loving the tournaments!
I think the idea of “nerfs†comes from a different mindset than has traditionally been applied in Starcraft. More like “rebalancingâ€... and we can expect to see some around Blizzcon time, if the pattern holds.

@xv I'm not sure that serral beating people devalues GSL. Yes, Serral is the best, but hes the exception. These guys can still guys can still beat every other player in the world.

I dunno about that, thekonny. Even without Serral's impact, it's surprising how these two (especially Rogue) managed to reach the finals. I suspect even Maru might have thrown the games to let his teammates have the glory.
Trap is very good, I agree. But Rogue's performance has been very mediocre (by GSL standards) if you consider how he did the rest of the year. He got kind of lucky to be matched up vs the right opponents at the right time.
So yes, this particular GSL was underwhelming. It didn't feel like a typical GSL.
