Could have been a larva issue, or maybe Serral thought that Gumiho had more eco than just 2 workers. On the other hand if you only have 2 workers then you can dedicate your time to babysitting the marine medivacs, which zerglings will only get you so far against. So while Serral had some pretty high numbers I don't necessarily think it's a guaranteed win from that point.

Also are you talking about the towel?
