SeleCT vs KiwiKaki

This guy is probably one of the worse casters I've ever heared. Lacks knowledge of the game, lacks knowledge of the players and doesn't even compensate with somewhat ok casting, I can't understand why everyone and their aunts make a youtube channel and start casting these days...



Couldn't agree with you more Stirlitz. But I think, they aint hurtin anyone and if it makes em feel important/special, let em be.
However, how this casts found itself embedded on sc2casts.com, I can't understand :S



I think it's because of the hope of getting lots of viewers > commercial contract and then making some cash :P lol

The worst part is your long pauses in the middle of sentences. Long pauses are just as bad as people who constantly say "um" all the time. It really distracts from what you're saying.

Overall, you need more energy behind your casts. Don't be afraid to be a little bit out there and take a few chances. People who take chances with casting are more memorable than those who just do straight casting. Take day9 and Husky as good examples of this.

You don't need to know every deep detail about the game, but you shouldn't pretend that you do either. If you don't know, don't assume. Just say what's happening instead of trying to guess what might have and then looking foolish. I know this is contrary to "taking chances", but I don't mean take chances by saying the wrong thing about the game state.

Avoid being too critical of pro players. Chances are, they know what they are doing better than you do. You make it sound like almost everything they do is a mistake. I guarantee you most of those things are *very* intentional. Some things are mistakes, truly, but most aren't. If you don't know why a player did something, it's ok to say that. It may come up later that you realize what they were planning all along.

On the good side, you have a good voice for casting, you just need to talk a little more fluidly. You have some pretty decent knowledge of the game, and the more you cast the more solid your knowledge will become. I got no problem with you casting and I think you could become quite good, but there are a few "kinks" you need to work out.

I hope I wasn't too critical. I truly only want to help you improve. I'm definitely not trying to say "stop casting" or "you suck". Keeping working at it man. Good luck.



no definitely I just don't find it helpful when someone just says this person is the worst caster ever etc. I'll definitely take your insight into consideration.

I actually have noticed my pauses, usually because my mind gets brain farts trying to cast, watch the screen/minimap, and analyze all at the same time. Hopefully I'll just get better with time.

Also I did notice my voice was kind of monotone in some of my casts, which is kind of weird because my personality isnt actually that bad :P but in my recent casts I'm about to put up I do think I'm getting better.



Just as often as you find new casters on this website, you also have a handful of trolls ready to berate them for not doing a perfect cast. At least they are casting games and posting them.
These were probably posted on this site because they're good games, from two monsters of the North American SC2 scene.
Keep 'em coming, barney, I know for a fact Day9 or Artosis' first casts were not perfect.

On a side note:
Kiwi went gas first before gateway which was cool & allowed him to get out that fast observer. Although it didn't actually help him much seeing as how he didn't see the Ghost Academy.

That was my point also conalmc, do what makes ya happy for sure, but I don't think he's ready to be on sites such as this one yet.
Barney, my bit of advice is, be more confident in what you say and of your opinions, you say "I think" "maybe" "could be but I'm not 100% sure" etc etc after most insights you give.
As far as how you sound etc, well I don't think it matters one bit, no ones gonna like everyone.
