damn! gg
u can see destiny's influence in catz play. at least with the 4 infestor hit squad
In my opinion, Idra desperately needs to stop ending games in the fashion he does. I understand emotions can get the better of you at times, but his games are quite frankly becoming un-entertaining to watch. I would assume that someone who wants to make their living off of entertainment would be concerned with entertaining.
This was a half game, imo. I wish I could get that 17 minutes back.
why would you only cast one game? is this a bo1? usually you cast series of games together.
Idea sueezes an extra drone not same build.
Thanks for this cast! Enjoyed it even though IdrA left at the end :D
@Scoldin: Why the heck do you even watch games if you are scared of wasting your time? Plz just don't watch any games anymore of just stop complaining!!! And srlsry stop whining because of 17 mins... Thank you!
Oh man, lol... Not even sure where to start. I'm not complaining about 17 minutes. I'm complaining because this game was the equivalent of a football team leaving in the middle of third quarter just because the other team scored a touch down. I enjoy watching games or I wouldn't be on this site. I'm just making the point that in general, Idra is starting to disappoint more and more often.
Great game. Brofestor Hit Squad FTW!!!
Post Game Recap is a great feature to have in your casts. Keep it up!!
Awesome with the recap :D
Idra makes his living off of winning tournaments and getting money from these tournaments. That's about it.
And it wouldn't be anything as drastic as an entire football team leaving in the 3rd quarter. Because that would mean lost advertising deals (which casts don't have, or at least in that sense), broken contracts (which SCII players have never signed), tens of thousands of tickets that would need to be refunded (which wouldn't be the same since the audience would just move on to another game), and so on.
Much as I don't appreciate good behavior, Idra knew he was behind and he knew Catz was probably decent enough to capitalize on his advantage. The number of games Idra plays in a single day means sometimes he probably gets more out of leaving early and trying that build order again rather than pursuing what was essentially an already lost game.
#1- As an aside, are you sure he makes a living off of winning tournaments? I think he got 4th at Columbus MLG, and I think that's been his best showing in SC2? He certainly hasn't won anything. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=152533
#2- I didn't mean it was the same as the football analogy from his point of view, or the sponsors point of view, I meant it from the spectators point of view. Even the caster was flabbergasted.
I recognize this was probably some shitty ladder game that didn't mean anything, and Idra might not even have known the replay would have made it out into the world... But I stand by what I've said. Idra is becoming, over all, one of the most frustrating players to watch in the game.
According to liquipedia, it seems like he won 1st place at Electronic Sports League Major Series Season V 2010, but I honestly know nothing about that league or event.
MLG DC it appears as well... I'll eat my crow now.
Idra's one of the best SC II players in the world right now, frequently recognized as one of the top Zergs and the top foreigner Zerg by anybody from Tyler to Artosis. He had a losing streak in Korea but now that he's out of there, he's winning tournaments left and right. In any case, a more appropriate sports analogy would be wrestling; Idra is the heel, the bad guy everyone loves to hate. That's what the casters make him out to be and that's why just about every out-of-tournament cast of Idra is of him losing.
As an aside, Greg doesn't seem to appreciate his 'heel' status very much as there are actual scumbag pro-SCII players such as Major. It's nice to see Idra outside of his notorious SCII persona, (ie http://twitter.com/#!/idrajit/status/89059526086639616) and to recognize that he's just a normal guy who also happens to be a little bit of an internet celebrity.
@wogzi (#14): You might want to check http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Idra#Achievements . I only see 2 notable wins (IPL and MLG) within the last year. That hardly qualifies as "winning tournaments left and right".
He may be the best American zerg, but that doesn't even put him close to the top 5 zergs in the world, and if you include other races, I doubt he'd even make it into the top 20. He's good, but not that good. If you look at http://sc2earnings.com/ (only counts tournament prizes) you'll find him in a 24th place having earned roughly $24k. That's about $182k less than MC and $171k less than NesTea (the highest ranking zerg on that list).
