The Starcraft scene is getting more dramatic than my mom's day time soaps.

Lol at IdrA. I think Blizzard should seriously consider banning people from playing for such behaviour. Something like FIFA or UEFA in football where you can get few months bann from playing in tournaments and leagues for shouting at referee or for dangerous foul. Don't get me wrong - IdrA is an interesting player to watch and we like him because he is controvertial but this is a bit too much. I've never seen anyone telling their opponent to F***k off during big tournament.



Event when protoss are the weakest race at the moment he still blames the fact the zerg is under powered? he is so lame

Such good plays from Idra in the first two games but he completely lost his patience in the last two. This series slipped out of his hands and that frustration is just obvious in the end. Nice blink from Mana!

Idra used to be one of my favourite players but his continuous crying about Protoss (Which is very far from being overpowered) has just ruined his persona.

It was fun watching Idra play really well games 1 and 2, but that fun turned quickly into a sour taste, leaving me wanting to see Idra defeated soundly. Game 3 was a well fought game by both players, Idra loses, acts like a baby. Game 4, Idra tries cheese, fails, acts like a baby. Game 5 Mana plays impeccably. Idra had the lead for a long time, but [as has been noted above] continued to throw bad unit compositions to Mana, who was able to deftly narrow the supply lead that Idra had maintained for so long. Idra does not have the maturity it takes to play professional e-sports. I agree with giving him temporary bans until he gets over himself and grows up. I'm shocked this doesn't get him disqualified already: most tournaments have high standards regarding in game chat.

Who are you calling a child? Banning him from tournaments for couple of weeks would be perfectly ok. Unfortunately nowadays young people don't know what respect is and don't face consequences of their behaviour. Look that's happening in London atm.

The real argument is that as a professional Idra shows little to no respect to another player when facing them unless he's winning or has a good day. It's one thing if it's any one of us playing ladder or maybe at a small LAN tourney or something, but this isn't the first time Idra's been an asshole on a tourney, whether online or offline(remember him flipping off MC at MLG Colombus?).



Who cares if Idra has bad manners? It only makes the victory that much sweeter for Mana.



Sure we saw lots of more bad behaviour players in ladder games, but pro games alive? No.



Whats wrong with you people? ban?... if fotball/ ishockey/basketball players, you name it, would be banned for saying "fuck you" to their opponent, all leauges worldwide would be closed down. There wouldn't be any players left... Grow up.

What is worth noting is how Mana is a mediocre pro. His timing are off, his forcefields are lukewarm and his positioning is often poor when he cant instantly correct it with blink. Idra just can't deal with the deathball, which is Mana's specialty. He stubbornly sticks to strategies and compositions that he knows won't work, and then he blames balance. It's like Idra's game sense hasn't evolved past early 2011.

The man needs to get a grip. You can see him slip in game. Not very professional.

As usual, when Idra loses, he outplays his opponent, outmacros, outmicros but get crushed by balance issues - blink, forcefield.

NP colossus with 30 stalkers around ? another one.
Listen till the end of game 4 there was nothing to talk about for me. then he leaves the game when that with 15 lings and 3 spines about to take down the core before the warpgate research and a gateway, he sees 4 cannons behind and leaves. big deal he could get ovi drops (mana had 2 sentries) and just clear his main or just take the map and drone up like a beast. very stupid decision when you know ur going into game 5 if you do that.
then he had a different approach for game 5 that didnt work and he had to be mad at himself but he wont admit it cuz hes stubborn as hell.
his spire was late, he had no gas because he chose to trade armies and throw in roaches and lings to lower/crush the ball earlier, which is okay if he was to execute it right, not try it with 3 smaller waves... then it was too late for plan B with corruptirs or infestors.
he has a problem throwing smaller inefficient waves of units one after another instead of trying to gather more army, he has to stall and delay with spines to be able to gather few rounds of larvae, his creep spread was terrible the whole series also.



Its not that people dislike Idra for saying what he says. Its the fact that he is the only, and I mean ONLY player that ever displays bad manner in professional tournaments. This shows how weak his self control is which also reflects his game performance.

This is a weakness of his and always comes back to haunt him.

BUT the main problem is, Idra being a really competent player (no doubt about it) people actually listen to his irrational whining about balance when he loses, even though its due to his lack of self control. And this is what cause people to rage at Idra. He is pooring out bullsht to the community via his rank as a high level player. That is in no way fair and should indeed be reviewed by tournament administrations before taking him in.

The thing is: bad manner breeds bad manner. Im not saying Idra should be banned. But if i ever arranged a pro tournament Id make sure there were rules saying disqualification will follow any type of unjustified whining or bad manner.



#36 you should probably watch more of Mana if that's your opinion of him, he is on fire at the moment. Very likely the best foreigner protoss after Naniwa and Huk.

If he is mediocre (by foreigner standards) then you are setting the bar so high that it makes the entire NA pro scene - besides Huk - mediocre.




Why do you compare pro sc2 with hockey/football/basketball? Starcraft 2 pro scene is a gentleman's sport. More like pool, golf or tennis. You can't yell fuck you without consequences in these sports.

And since when is bad manners the same as having a personality? White-Ra has alot of personality without the BM-bullshit.

Idra is always going for the a-move against the mass micro blink stalkers. He doesn't even make a couple of lings to surround. It is bound to fail but in Idras mind he doesn't understand why, he just thinks it is due to game balance.



Paladia you are generally right, tho he did micro his roaches a bit but the lings were not greatly synched with the roaches. it is true he can put a lot more effort in microing his roaches but still 20+ blink stalkers (i wont say op or imba) are a bitch to deal with.



Of course if one player micros his units (in this case stalkers) like a mad-man while the other player just a-moves, the microing player will win. I don't see what is so surprising about that.



It's comments like #28 that make me cheer for Idra. "remember him flipping off MC at MLG Colombus?" Yeah actually I remember that, I also remember MC giving him the cut-throat gesture, am I the only person who remembers that? Idra is the only guy in the SC2 professional scene who will stand up for himself no matter what. We need more people like him, take a look at this site for example: right now 2 of the top 5 rated videos of the day are Idra games, and 3 of the the top 5 commented on games are Idra games. Coincidence? Hell no.
