It baffles me how a 200 zerg can lose to a 130 protoss...maybe roaches should be brought back down to 1 supply
@aohx075 I feel in this game Stephano was expanding really aggressively early on but didn't carry that on to the late game : /
Normally whenever I watch Stephano he normally goes for that style all game long, but during late here, MaNa made him fall apart a bit : (
@aohx075 yea stephano was 200 but he had like 120drones.
@aohx075 sounds like a great idea... korean zegs already smashing protoss why don't we help them out some more
@aohx075 it wouldn't baffle you that much if you noticed the zerg had 100 drones to 60 for the protoss, plus 200 worth of roaches cost less than 50 supply worth of colosi and immortals.. so it should naturally lose.
good macro but just taking bases and droning hard won't do it, what about upgrades? Mana had 3-3 like 15+mins before him and he never noticed mana's forth until like 10 mins later? and he never made an all-out push to deny any of mana's bases. why? because he never bothered to get rid of tne warp prisms and pylons constantly harassing him, so he was dancing around 70% of the time.
If you watched the game, Stephano's army could never outright kill Mana's stalker/colossus army. He started with a roach army, went roach/infestor, transitioned to roach/infestor/corruptor, then roach/infestor/broodlord, back to pure roach, then finally ultra/infestor. Every single army combo lost to stalker/colossus, which Mana had chosen before his first observer left his base. If this game doesn't convince you that it is impossible to win a macro game ZvP vs a competent, maxed opponent, I don't know what will. The game is certainly imbalanced in favor of Protoss late, but in a way it doesn't matter because it's imbalanced in favor of Zerg early. If Stephano had gone straight mutas he'd have had a build order win, but it's a scoutable and hard-counterable build. Whatever
The engagement at 15:50 is where the game turned.
Stephanos positioning wasn't the best, roaches need to be beneath the Broods, not next to them.
Also, I think baneling bombs would've been great combined with those infestors!
