I think Crota is getting better. I really like they way his voice gets faster, louder, and more urgent as the action picks up. Some other commentators' voices get more annoying as the action picks up, or the things they say get more predictable, but the comments Crota makes during this kind of action is not annoying or very predictable. I think this is the best aspect of his commentating and the action scenes are enhanced by this characteristic of his commentating.
Maybe if he didn't start slobbering when his voice gets faster, louder, and more urgent...
