As esports grows the excuses to not support LAN falls.

LAN as we know it has existed since 1976.
How can a game released in 2010 justify taking more than a 30 year technological setback?

The reason battle.net doesnt want to implement LAN:

LAN makes sure you dont have to log in. To log in, you have to BUY an account. So getting multiple accounts = buying multiple starcraft 2 copies = more money for Blizzard.

LAN will make Blizzard make less money. Those money sucking greedy bastards.



Make a tournament version with LAN?

I understand a company being greedy early on to ensure they cover their development costs. At this late stage though a cool company would relax and enable LAN for everybody. Anything less seems greedy to me.

Polt realizes that tvz matchups have the best outcome if the terran goes for the win before the late game. zergs usually outmacro them if they try to move into the lategame.
