WOW!
Am I like the only one who's not impressed? I feel like a scrooge. First game is sim city for 10 ingame minutes before the FIRST SHOT IS FIRED, while game2 is very simple low-micro failed heavy pressure that dies to the counter.
I mean, where's the drama, where's the high level play being showcased?
@Sere
Why don't you play some SC2 and try to impress others? What's not impressive about destroying an amazing korean player?
You could destroy a top level player with a 7-pool if he opened wrong; doesn't mean it makes for a good VOD, either.
Just showcasing a good player doing his daily grind isn't enough; if the game isn't important (ie part of a complete replay bracket) then it needs to be exciting, it needs to show the (ie) amazing control, good decision making, inhuman multitasking and so forth that lets us know why these guys are the pros.
If it's uneventful game climaxing in a single major fight that's a steamroll... well, I can get that in my own damn games online.
LOL @ sere: you are a fucktard, please stop commenting...do you watch games at all? The game you describe as wanting to see is like 1% of the games, even pros, unfortunately good play and "exciting" play (a biased notion to begin with) aren't the same thing....please take your fucktard comments elsewhere...thanks fucktard.
@ Sere... Why dont you do it? And if this doesnt satisgy you... THEN DONT WATCH! Haha you seriously need to think before you post man... @ Hillshifty and @ andygami: I agree with yo both.
Insane.
@6, Why don't I do what? Become a pro? Maybe because I can't? I watch in general to see high level play and entertaining matches, and this one in specific because it was voted up strongly and thought it would be remarkable and exceptional. Yet I feel the one sided play shown was less than that.
@5, Why yes, I do watch games, as evidenced by my presence here and these comments. I agree that good and exciting play is rare! But then there are literally hundreds of pro-level games being played daily, either in tournaments or on the ladder. It's not unreasonable to ask for most of those to be forgotten and the best of those remembered. And yes "exciting" play is subjective. Defining what makes 'good entertainment' is hard, for most here it seems they'd prefer watching their crowd favorites stomp lower players. I think I'm in the minority when I'm hoping for closer matched games where the heel (Idra) might win and the hero (Stephano) drops games.
Unless it's a complete tournament results posting (which deserves it's own space), the less amazing games don't deserve to be spread and hyped to the same vigor that best are. The voting system here used to be a good way to filter into the 'epic' matches, but nowadays ppl are just voting for VODs where their favoite wins, regardless of other content.
I think its cool that a foreign zerg is just getting better and better. Stephano is getting some great wins and seems like a cool guy. I play terran but I think its still fun to watch a good zerg because the playstyle is so different between the two races. On a side note, seeing stephano's lighted keyboard makes me really want one of them!
Agree with Sere in a sense that I'd love to sort replays by quirkiness factor. However, that's mostly a sc2casts feature request. This game was important, top level, no doubt, but just happened to play out in a typical manner. Nothing wrong with that, but knowing that certain games are especially quirky before watching would be immensely valuable for a casual watcher.
games are okay not great.
game 2: bomber's engagement was terrible. his hellions were blocking some of his marauders. his hellions should not have been taking the hits from the roaches..
I think they were decent games, probably shouldn't be the top-rated games on sc2casts right now, though. The casting was fairly bland, and that might be what makes them seem boring.
It's true, though: seeing Stephano win is just not that special any more.
game1: you need 4 workers at that gaz. Question bout human still open. "amazing control, good decision making, inhuman multitasking".
time to put shoes on)
impressive!
guys who aren't happy never played zerg at gm level.
The majority of games come down to simple build order wins, since top level pros all have flawless mechanics and execution (at least for the early- to mid-game). The relatively simple games are a showcase of excellent build orders. If you can imitate all of Stephano's BO openers without a flaw, you will be in GM guaranteed.
Also, when you have hellion/marauder, which unit tanks depends which unit is attacking you. Marauders tank zerglings while hellions roast, hellions tank roaches while marauders shoot
Bomber while reknowned, is not code A or S so well within Stephano's skill level to quite easily master. Not the most exciting games as basically a walk over.
Well, I agree with Sere... ANy game with Stephano in it gets instant +150 upvotes, because of Stephano's little bitches.
Just wait for balance to kill Brolord Imbafestor, Stephano might not be as 'godly'.
Ha! I haven't watched the match, but I'm being entertained from reading the comments. Trolls, haters, whiners, absent-minded strategy experts, etc :)
#9- stephano mostly plays ultra-ling, not just broodlord infestor
Why do you people need to antagonize with a successful (even genius) player? It was all great when he was breaking the metagame, and now that he is the most awarded foreign player is it no longer nice to watch him play?
This is Starcraft 2, not freakin WWE. So stop with this stupid hooligan/fanatic attitude.
