Idra on spaceship should not have gg'd. EG really need to put there foot down and tell him - early GG again and your fired. Get him a sports psychologist and teach him to man the f**k up! Im Australian and we have a massive sporting culture here and the main thing is representing your team/country with PRIDE!! Never say die and even if your going to lose you would never see an aussie give up and show weakness in that way. Pathetic really..

Also forgot to mention, one thing that really cost Idra was the fact he didn't build spines in his middle base (with the 3 gas geysers). Also the outlying base to the left. Taeja has one OBVIOUS form of harassment that Idra needs to be aware of and prepare for and that is hellions. He continue to simply rally drones to bases with blue flame hellions there suiciding like 50+ drones. It really was a dismal defence on his part. Idra demonstrated a lack of 'thinking on your feet' and/or problem solving, preferring instead to just play a cookie cutter style with no deviation and/or reaction to taeja's on atlantis. He could have very easily mixed in a bunch of defensive roaches to defend the outlying bases until spines were built. Taeja had virtually no army only a couple of thors/vikings/hellions and had no way of finishing off Idra. Totally premature gg.

Interesting games, fun to watch the two different styles. Was a bit surprised to see the metal from Taeja, and Idra's safer scouting and more varied midgame is good to see v a year ago. For comments #5/6: I was actually thinking "Idra's totally screwed now" just a few seconds before his gg. He was very behind in a low econ late game, knew it, and tapped out. And criticizing him for not multitasking more during a prolonged stressful push while getting harassed... deserves comments of 'Go do better yourself!'.
Good, close, games with a lot of cute decision making. A+ would watch again.

You have a point, but so does sgt slick.
It's good to see a never say die attitude, sometimes you see comebacks.
I mean you can take it to far, but idra is an extremist on the opposite side of the scale.

Like with most sports, you kind of have to realize how much endurance you have for the game and when to let it go as a player. If you go into every match thinking that you're going to play it to the bitter end, you'll be exhausted by the first game. Until he starts drilling ten hours a day, six days a week, he's not going to have the same kind of sheer willpower to be able to play to the conclusive end of every game. It's a lot to ask of a player to work more than a standard work week, to have that kind of sheer dedication to the game that meets and exceeds what we expect of ourselves. I think that while we'd love to see Idra at the top, it's ultimately up to him how he plays and how much time he dedicates to his job. Sure he can be a lot better, but he's where he is now and where he is now is still really good and that's fine.

It is way easier to play when you're ahead in the game and your opponent is scrambling, and it's incredibly stressful and draining to pull your game together when stuff hits the fan. There are players that like to slug it out tooth and nail, and there are players who like to either win with finesse or concede gracefully. There is nothing wrong with that, nor is it cowardliness - in most occasions (not always true for Idra tho) it's even more respectful to your opponent to not gamble on that 0.1% chance of him making an unlikely, horrible mistake once you've been outplayed in a fair and intense battle.
