WoW, Scarlett really makes it look so easy. This proves how good she is. Personally i am really happy that a girl managed to get to the top top level of players out there! big probs to you Scarlett.

If ToD actually sounds like that, we need him to become a professional caster RIGHT NOW.

Scarlett's such a beast!

Lol at the anecdote about ToD eating away his pain. Love RotterdaM and MrBitter, but only when they're together. Such a good dynamic.

I've got to mirror MrBitter on this, Scarlett is easily my favourite NA Zerg right now and probably my favourite North American player overall. She's got such a great handle on the mechanics of the game. I think we will see her in the same ranks as Nerchio and Stephano very soon. All hail the Queen of Blades!

@#1 I don't want to sound like a dick, but Scarlett was born a man, so it's not like we're seeing a naturally born woman at the top of the professional circuit. Yes, she's a girl now, but it's not quite the gender stereotype breaking I would have hoped for.

@#7 Damn wasn't aware of this fact. Google'd it and you're right - thx for bringing it to my attentions. Doesn't take away anything about her amazing plays but fully agree with your last remark.

Her play is definitely way up there great job!
I agree not many girls will find her to be a suitable role model due to her atypical background.
Her unmatched success seems to be an argument against gender equality rather than for it

ToD's understanding of PvZ is seriously lacking, he needs to stop whining and start learning.
Scarlett played really well, although her infestor control was a little bit sloppy at times.

political correctness of these days just knocks me out, why cant we just call things its real names. scarlett isnt a girl, its transsexual, wearing clothes like girl doesnt make u one. period.

Am I the only one here that see's Mr. Bitters constant gramatical errors?
Game 2: "Pretty nice force fields here from Scarlett, she's going to get a lot of roaches for free"
Ummm, you mean Tod??
Not to mention, the constant personal jokes between these guys, no one gives a shit about you love Carl Jr!

I give a shit, well know that's not true but I still enjoy the stories. These two are very enjoyable when casting together. I watch games just because it's them so also loving that they expose me to lesser known players. Fuck off everyone on the transgender comments. She's a fucking girl and she's good at Starcraft stop being ignorant and jealous.

Girl: a youthful female person.
Female: an animal that produces gametes (ova) that can be fertilized by male gametes (spermatozoa).
Sounds like Scarlett is not a girl. Sorry. That being said, he's still an amazing SC2 player and I really enjoy watching him play.

Usually when somebody goes through the long and arduous and extremely difficult process of becoming an MtF transgender, we accord that person a certain amount of respect by calling them by their preferred gender identity. We don't act like retarded fratbros with an anal fixation on 'what's real' because that would be as out of touch with the GLBT movement as using the words 'coloreds' and 'negroes' would be with the civil rights movement.
Just because it's a "long and arduous" task doesn't mean it's worthy of any respect. I actually find it quite silly. Also, I haven't even heard that he's done so. For all I know he's just a cross-dresser.
Comparing the struggles that black people go through regarding racism to that faced by cross-dressers is just stupid and insulting to black people.

Comments are getting hot and heavy, interesting points brought up by many people. My contention is that there's no harm in Scarlett's gender status as long as (s)he isn't wrecking women's leagues or something.
The fact that the casters are in the habit of saying "he" or "she" when describing a player in Starcraft 2 is the underlying problem, as I don't think gender has much of anything to do with Starcraft 2.
Obviously the gender bias in the SC2 scene shows that whether it is cultural or genetic determination (or almost certainly both) being born with a penis is near-mandatory for Starcraft 2 pro status.

Nate dawg, to disqualify a rights movement of one group just because there's been a historical precedent in another movement is backasswards as hell.
It's like saying 'guys we shouldn't respect civil rights because it discounts the importance of the abolishment of slavery which shouldn't be respected because of the American Revolution which shouldn't be respected because of the Reformation' rinse and repeat, ad nauseum.
History is made of a bunch of isolated progressive events that we don't realize the importance of until later. You have to live in the whitebreadiest, most midwestern, suburban wasteland part of the United States not to recognize how important the GLBT rights movement was.

Good games. ToD got side swiped in both games by a zergling flank causing both losses. Zerg is highly maneuverable, and so you have to account for that in positional planning. He didn't unfortunately.
She's a good player and she is a she imo. It's just a pronoun and calling her by the pronoun she identifies with is fine (quite a few homosexuals like being called "she" as well). However, if you get more descriptive then you have to say that she is a transgender. Calling her a female would be off, and saying she is progressing women's esports presence would also be off. She is progressing transgenders' presence in esports and doing a good job at it.

Lol, Nate doesn't know biology. If you want to talk biological genders, talk chromosomes. Scarlett is too awesome. Regardless of gender status, she's just beating everybody up. Lucky her that she grew up in a progressive country like Canada as opposed to all the white bread americans posting. I think its funny that everyone talks about Scarlett being good in spite of being a girl (as though its a handicap or something) when Idra's autism is actually a hindrance to his SC play.

What the hell is it to any of you if Scarlett's trans or not? She's a bloody fantastic player, easily my favorite in the game, and she should be yours too. (Anyone remember that real early match on Tal'Darim Altar where she blocked off the main's chokepoint by throwing a hatch and queen in there before expo? _Brilliant._)
