Last game was insane.
P = Broken race...
Scandalous last game...
25min on 2 base and Protoss win?
game 5 was possibly one of the greatest displays of skill i've ever seen.
Comment #2 is probably the most silly post I have ever seen. Hero's micro was tremendous and it was all pure skill. He outskilled Jaedong out of all people.
There was no toss deathball, there was no blink stalker. Just excellent FF and an amazing immortal micro.
Outskilled jeadong?
Seriously? xD
ty protoss fanboy
Yah, look how long he kept his immortals alive. Each of them had 50-60 kills. It was almost pure micro. Look at them both at the end. It wasn't an easy win, that was the look of despair on both of their faces. Even though Hero won it looked like he wanted to cry lol
Comment #2 & #5
LOL
I think its quite obvious who the fanboy is.
Clearly you do not understand sc2. A loss against a protoss doesnt automatically mean protoss is broken. Dumbass.
oh well. Let's hope Polt can get revenge.
By your insulting attack zola Comment #7 It looks like you are a passionate fanboy/girl yourself. :)
everytime hero or mc play, toss is broken? :P
Jaedong went too many roaches too early, wasn't able to do anything with them. The end.
Commenter #2 and #5 is probably some noob stuck in the lower tier and can't handle the toss matchup. Comes here and cries about it.
Do you want some cheese with that whine?
The races are fine, Blizzard wants an equal distribution amongs wins among the races and they got it.
Toss is not OP, Hero is OP.
If that isn't evidence that protoss is broken I don't know what is.
Game one: Hero cheeses. Jaedong defends about as well as you can, makes nothing but units. Hero defends with nothing and comes back, eventually losing though
Game two: Jaedong cheeses and messes up. Loses. Exactly what is supposed to happen in game one.
Game three: Hero fast expands to the gold. Jaedong tries to punish with lings, but can't do anything (suprise) against overcharge. Loses to ridiculous income and efficiency.
Game four: Awesome play by both players. It's annoying that when hero is in two place jaedong has to out multitask, but when hero pushes and roaches counter attack Hero selects his mothership and is fine, but whatever.
Game five: Hero responds to 3 hatch with a 4 gate. Jaedong defends well. Hero adds immortals and sentries, jaedong makes nothing but units and amazingly defends for awhile. Eventually Hero gets enough forcefields and Jaedong can't do anything. GG.
Other than game four hero didn't earn anything in this set. He's a fantastic player and can show some good skills, but there were a million times he should have lost but didn't because protoss has so many safety nets, and game 5 he won because there is nothing you can do about forcefield unless toss screws up.
Totally agree with Comment #13.
How the fk can people whine at a game like this. Even if its OP its only because the race scales well with micro. That game 5 was the most amazing
Jaedong really threw that last game. Sure, Hero played well, but after Jaedong defeated his first immortal wave it was really Jaedong's to lose. There was no reason for him to attack into Hero after defeating the first immortal wave. He had a 40 supply lead after the first wave, but only had a 20 supply lead going into the second. He threw away 16 roaches in his attack on Hero's natural and only picked off an immortal and a couple other inconsequential units. That is a really bad trade. If he had saved those roaches he would have easily had a 40-50 supply lead going into the second immortal wave, and those roaches could have tanked for his hydras.
Yes, Hero did have really good micro and played his heart out, but that's really not why he won. People saying that Jaedong couldn't do anything and whining that Protoss is OP are really off-base. Jaedong lost because he made a big mistake in a situation where he had Hero checkmated, which ultimately let Hero back into the game.
but but but it is easier to complain that toss is OP than to really analyse the game /sarcasm
Exactly #16, at least someone is paying attention.
Tiny zit OP
#17, doesn't get sarcasm /irony
Calm down people. Game is balanced *ehm* except for the fact that the entire top 5 in the world (by points) are all Protoss...
That's a pretty meaningful fact right there.
I find protoss to be the least entertaining, always have, especially since WOL. That is why I (just me) find the imbalance in their favor so particularly disheartening.
I believe the imbalance in conceptual and is based on programmers (and our own) easy understanding of what makes zerg and human unique races. The whole idea of a super powerful energy based race is really difficult to base on anything we know from the world around us (Terrans obvious, Zerg bugs).
I believe an overhaul of how they design protoss, and what limits it should have is called for.
Jaedong is a way better player but I'm happy for Hero, he is a immensely talented player himself and deserves to beat some of the best some of the time.
#9 I like good players. Terran, Protoss, Zerg. Doesnt matter to me. But even more than good players I like good games =)
incredible series. as for the 5th game, people keep complaining that protoss is op except if you look at what happened, clearly jaedong lost a bit of his footing after cleaning up the first attack which ended at 50:50. At this point, Jaedong has 101 supply and hero had 59. Thats a 42 supply lead. When the second engagement started at 53:16, hero had 126 supply, which he got off of two bases while defending essentially the whole interim between the end of the first attack and the beginning of the second attack. Meanwhile, Jaedong entered the second fight at 53:16 with only 145 supply. He spent a noticeable portion of units counterattacking really fast in the 51st/52nd minute thinking he had the win and didn't get that much done. If Jaedong had cooled off for a little bit and macroed hard off of 3 bases for 2 minutes (because hero had nothing left to attack with during that time) Jaedong would have easily had 170+ supply going into the second fight and surely would have won. Instead Jaedong had slightly less than a 20 supply lead going into that fight and with hero's micro, his immortals basically have blink.
Jaedong also rushed into hero's army OFF of creep with <20 supply lead in the second fight
Can we please limit the conversation to that tiny zit?
great series, nuf said :D
Regardless of balance, Jaedong played well but not as well as Hero. He could have won had he made better choices, but threw his leads several times bytaking calculated but ultimately bad risks.
All Jaedong had to do in the final game was stick with lings and he would have won easily. If Protoss is broken it`s only because it`s so dull to play it, not because you can`t beat it. You just have to scout. Dong didn`t scout and got the wrong units. That`s why he lost.
