so much has been made of the most efficient combo in the game: fungal growth into corrosive bile. it only costs energy and a cool down, so the argument goes. but there is one more thing that it does cost, and i would say quite heavily: apm.
it takes a lot of micro to perform all those actions effectively. in game 1, you'll see snute being the more cost efficient player but not the most apm efficient. he sacrificed too much apm to his micro and fell too far behind in his macro. snute was even or better in the majority of the battles but he was as consistently even or worse in worker count and base count.
you could say that in this TvZ, the roles were reversed. terran threw his units away recklessly like a hive of swarming insects; zerg had perfect battle strategy, gaining the most from every unit but was simply overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the enemy.
a very intriguing game 1!
