I enjoy these games! I hope you get in plat with this tactic =)
stop yelling
Yeah Mr. Destiny, mass queens is a valid strat, and you don't beat it with macro. No. You beat it with ghosts or templar, or your own mass of queens. This shows nothing more than you beating up helpless noobs because they can't figure out that EMP and Feedback gets rid of energy, which means no transfuses.
Valkor, If these guys could micro their units, and macro their bases properly, they could beat this. Learning what units counter each other is part of mechanics. At the bronze and silver levels, people just need to learn the game, and worry about strategy and builds later.
I watched the first game then left. I think its just bad mannered playing against beginners, laughing. Didnt enjoy this at all
"Learning what units counter each other is part of mechanics."
So then what is the difference between mechanics and strategy?
Seems to me like destiny is trying to prove that he can beat lower level players simply by rallying higher numbers of units, even if the unit choice is poor. The problem is with the generalization that mechanics are ALL that matter. If this was true then he should try doing the same thing using only SCVs.
What's more, he ends up using basic strategy during all his games anyways. I would consider early aggression, consistent pressure, containing the opponent, etc. pretty relevant strategies for his all queen build.
Which game did he apply early aggression, or constant pressure, or contain the opponent? He is using queens and he never walked them off creep. The other players could have complete map control if they could only use the advantages given to them. I am not saying it is everything, but neither is Destiny. It is important to have fast accurate clicks and, it is important to use hotkeys.
wow, such good macro, having 3k minerals banked and 5 queens queued up per hatch
Some of you guys are missing the point. Maybe ghosts or HT hard counter queens even without macro (though he beats a mass templar build, just barely). But with proper macro, almost ANY build beats mass queens. So if his opponents just had solid macro, they wouldn't NEED any strategy or game sense to beat him. They would just steam roll him with almost anything.
I can see why it is BM to beat up on noobs. But, the guy is making an interesting point.
