Interesting play by Avilo, but this just how good/bad Idra is. He can max out and overrun his opponents like a boss, but if that fails there is no plan B (other than just ragequit, or forfeit without even playing).




OMG, IdrA fail + rage quit. He missed so many opportunities with his mutas and in the end with like 30 brood lords just parked in one spot. He should have been carpet bombing the main.



Yeah I agree, IdrA could have played better in the endgame, but OMFG the gameplay from avilo is sooooooo fucking gay, I hope I won't ever see anything like that again....

Here is what you people need to understand. IdrA has his eye on the prize -- he trains for tournaments and real games, of which this was obviously not. Once VTavilo was obviously just intentionally delaying IdrA's attacks with chain nukes, IdrA saw no reason to resume playing, as the game was going to stalemate until VTavilo or IdrA ran out of resources -- not worth it for one stupid ladder game.

Call it what you will, "fail" "rage quit" etc. but the kind of play that VTavilo was engaging in was literally a waste of IdrA's time, and he doesn't care about ladder.

Were actual money on the line, you can be sure IdrA would not have left, as I definitely believe he had a strong advantage, and I think he would have just had to sit it out and win once avilo could no longer afford chain nuking.



@7.. except Idra hasn't won a single tournament in ages... he's just an overrated c class player who couldn't make in BW and still cannot make it in SC2, except now he has a following composed mostly of a bunch of impressionable white kids who think anyone who behaves like a dick and cusses a lot is a cool dude.

@s4life perhaps you're not too familiar with the SC2 scene... failing to recognize IdrA as one of the best foreigners in the world is a pretty funny mistake.

IGN pro league? 9 top-3 placements in the last 6 months? 1.5 notable achievements per month?

Seems like in every big tournament except for MLG Raleigh he ranks as one of the top 3 foreigners. He also won MLG DC.

His style has little variability and is extremely predictable, yet he is still extremely dominant. He never rolls the dice with early timing all-ins, and dice-rollers manage to take games off of him all the time -- it's the nature of the game, and chance in general. The fact that very few people are willing to play straight-up macro games against him makes his future in tournaments fundamentally very chance-based, as so many people resort to all-ins with various justification, but most probably because they know it's their best shot to win any games against him.

Your ridiculously racist/biased statement of "he has a following composed mostly of a bunch of impressionable white kids who think anyone who behaves like a dick and cusses a lot is a cool dude" is probably unappreciated by all the people who know a lot more about him and the game than you, and just happen to be white (after all, he is from the U.S. where most SC2 fans in the U.S. and Canada are caucasian, simply because the dominant ethnic background is caucasian). Perhaps fans find it refreshing for someone to speak their mind instead of "gg"ing every game like a robot, even if you think the other player's style of play is cowardly.

I think he should play safer, hatch-first less often, and make his criticisms more specific instead of saying things like "fuck you" to players, but to just dismiss him as an overrated c class player is pretty ignorant. Which starcraft 2 players do you consider to be significantly more talented and impressive than him? Do they have numerous tournament wins?



What's wrong with chain nukes? That's hardly a waste of time. Does Idra have a pressing schedule? His job is to play ^&$%ing starcraft...
Can't he just play a game out and gg at the end like a normal person?

Such a disappointment to watch him build 100 drones and leave the game crying. Boo hoo Idra.

boring turtling play? time wasting nukes? I guess avilo was wasting idras time by nuking his expansions too. thing is, idra couldnt win that game, so he raged and quit. simple as. no defense for his behaviour needed.



@Mang being a top 5 NA foreign player is like winning something in the special olympics. Idra can beat Catz and Avilo -- well sometimes -- that doesn't make him a top player. MMA, MVP, MC, Puma, Bomber and so on.. those are the top players.



@Mang and be sure to notice I mentioned NA only, not the whole foreign scene.. there are at least 10 EU players who would consistently beat Idra to a pulp -- and have done so in the past -- among those are Nani, Mana, Nerchio, Stephano, Thorzain, Kas, Sase, Huk and others.



@s4life. Since when MMA, MVP, MC, Puma, Bomber are NA?



s4life: None of those players, except, Nerchio and HuK have beaten IdrA more than one time. IdrA owned the snot out of MaNa in NASL twice and he's never faced Stephano.

To everyone saying that IdrA rages, watch one of his commentated games, he doesn't get mad, he just stops giving a fuck and leaves, people looks to far in to it.
