this is the most insane game i've ever seen
zerg just doesn't have good endgame units, nothing to be done against mass ghost
I do think mvp might have gotten Ghost nerfed after this game. Boring third game...
Nestea just played really crappy last part of game 3. Not doing anything about the drops, not rebuilding hatches, hardly injecting larvae and very poor unit composition (27 broodlords without any support vs viking and mass ghost, the only reason you would do that is if you actually want to lose the game).
Oh, I forgot to mention letting a crapload of drones die to a nuke and letting mvp kill all his overlords where he could easily pull them back. WTF was he doing?
Guys, all this criticism of pr0z totally reminds me of a song:

@Marcus
I partly agree, but to NesTea's defense, it is not exactly easy to act perfectly in all areas of the map, when there is so much action going on at loads of different places simultaneously.
NesTea held his own against Mvp, better than most Zergs probably would. Besides, with his creativity (especially around the Nidus+mass Baneling move), all he needed was just a little extra luck in his favor, and the game would have turned upside down.
Absolutely amazing finals!
It never ceases to surprise me just how lousy the SC2 live audience is at cheering. They we're great during the actual match but then it seemed like half of them left before the ceremony and the ones who stayed just didn't seem to care.
Anyhow it was a really entertaining match my only complaint is that NesTea lost focus late game and made some pretty big mistakes, great game though.
agree, last game was edgy and pretty entertaining, although not the best match up in Sc2. Nestea felt kinda lost strategically...did not know where to turn. Not sure why he let himself lose to so many nukes, maybe to free up supply, but doubt it, as noone likes losing units to nukes. IMVP had it relatively easy.
13k mineral at the end for zerg >.< wow . awesome game
RIGGED LULULULULUL
When the first wave of broodlord was killed by ghosts Nestea realized that the game was over and there was absolutely no weapon in the Zerg arsenal to break a properly-played Terran. Broodlords are sniped. Nydus worm shot down. Drops take your crappy ground army and place it in a kill zone. Zergling/baneling dies to tanks and planetaries. Mutas can't beat marines. Ultralisks are melee. Infestors get EMPed and sniped. Roaches die to tanks. Hydras are awful. It has to be a horrible, horrible moment to realize that you're playing a game that cannot possibly be won because your opponent picked the absolutely better race. The rest of the game didn't matter
#4 you take finding little red dots when you have half the shakuras for granted as well as multitasking rally points drones army and stuff...
I really hope blizzard can take a serious note out of this and such ZVTs when you have the best zerg player denied of options all the time.
nes tea tried to keep him busy chasing while he mines more than half of the map which eventually failed to some degree when he started dropping, then the great defense of the middle limited his banes roll and he had to go upper left or lower left nydus/drops with ultras picking on the facilities forcing him through the narrow ramp choke where he wanted to bane roll him over, which failed also due to the nukes happening the same time. probably he could have had a few more overseers attached to the broods and more infestors, but i doubt he could have won that anyway. this is just sad to watch.
I have to agree that Nestea's play looked astoundingly weak.
- not doing anything about his ridiculous number of drones in spite of his huge bank account
- not spamming spine crawlers around his bases to shut down or at least slow down drops (and thereby put money and drones to good use)
- sending out brood lords without proper support twice
- not getting detection immediately after the first nuke hit
- repeatedly a-moving 100 banes to clean up 8 marines (1 control group syndrome)
Side note, I don't understand why some people think it's not okay to criticise top players. I have huge respect for Nestea regardless of the above. Nobody can constantly deliver only top performances, There's always ups and downs. Plus, at tournaments you might get nerves, you might be exhausted from hours of gaming, you might be jetlagged, you simply might have a bad day or you might not have prepared properly because you were busy preparing for another more important tournament or whatever. There's a big difference between saying he didn't play as good as usual in that game and saying he's not a good player.
seemed like nestea only ever wanted to make one unit at a time. like 100 banes or 27 broods... lol
what are 27 broods and 2 corruptors going to do against vikings and ghost?
This is probably the most exciting game of Starcraft 2 I've ever watched.
A unit from a barracks can wipe out brood lords (a tier 3 unit) and completely deplete infestors' energy...
I'm sorry, but there's definitely something wrong with this.
I'm little skeptical of a game between two teammates that looks like 20-minute no-rush Big Game Hunters. Watching 100+ banelings chasing drops and 8/8 nukes land seems an awful like a show match. I kept expecting lols to come over chat.
I think Nestea played really, really bad. Pls don't yell imba or critisizing pro's blah blah, I'm only talking about Nestea's play this game relative to his own standard. I have watched him play alot and I know that he can play sooooo much better than this! It almost felt as if he did not want to win that game. Really weird...
To those who are saying Nestea played bad on game 3:
I can already tell you are inexperienced.
after terran taking half of the map like that,
THERE IS NO GOD DAMN WAY FOR ZERG TO WIN.
it doesnt matter how much resources you are storing, THERE IS SIMPLY NOTHING ZERG CAN DO.
You make brood lords (or ultras)--> ghost
You make infestors ---> ghost
You make 110 banelings----> a couple of thors and 10 tanks
NO GOD DAMN WAY TO knock the front door, there goes drop
OVER LORD WITH UNIS or BANELINGS----> ghost
oh nydus network ----> 10 SCVS
GUYS COME ON. IM MAD!
if zerg has unit that counters ghost, then nestea wins by FAR.
(something like snipe wont effect on Massive unit or something)
Mass ghost means game over for zergs.
@LeFrog, true - of course we may critize top players. :-) Nobody plays perfectly all the time, in spite of their level.
However, I just think some of the criticism doesn't account for the actual skill level, and rather for expectations and assumptions.
In short, try to imagine how soon the game may have ended, had it not been NesTea. He made many mistakes, but I believe IMMvp would have taken down most other Zergs, way more convincingly.
mass ghosts with cloak and snipe can easily deny zerg detection too, all zerg can do is not let the enemy get up to that many ghosts.
Ghost... can cloak, can come out with enough energy for an EMP, hardier than a marine, can shoot up and down, can snipe en mass to kill anything in range in 1 second, takes shields and energy away from protoss units at the same time... and let's see what else... OH YA THEY CAN LAUNCH NUKES TOO. Ya nothing wrong with that much power in a barracks unit. /sarcasm
Can't help thinking how different this game would be with the proposed Heart of the Swarm units. Swarm hosts and Blinding cloud for the Terran position in the centre. Even ocular parasite on a Mutalisk or Ultra would have made a big difference to the nuke defence as opposed to the spore crawler that burrowed and was like 'here it is!'
Terran could still snipe anything that moves but it might have prevented the situation where NesTea just ran out of options.
I think if Nestea had just had better creep spread it could have tilted the game in his favor. When his bank was crazy, I think spamming spores and spine crawlers would've helped to manage the drop and ghost harass much more effectively. I think one of the key differentials was the lack of creep spread. When MVP was just harassing and static in the middle the whole map should've been covered with creep.
Wow, someone loses and we bitch about imbalance again. Someone sing a new tune?
I want to sing about the brilliance and fun element of Starcraft 2, if I may?
STFU with all the imbalance shit. You can adapt to the game, and play it the way you enjoy it the most. Don't use the game as an excuse as to why you can't win - If you do that, it really doesn't seem like you are having fun playing it. Grow up, or quit.
So... I love NesTea's play, but wow... Incredible play by both in my opinion! Amazin multitasking skills!
@Whiskey STOP! you're starting to make the starcraft community sound mature or something... Just go away before you do any more damage!
with 27 broodlords the only reason nestea lost in the end is he didn't fungal the ghosts. if you let 18 ghost sit in stealth and blow all there energy killing your broodlords of course he's going to kill them. If he got a good fungal on even half of them nestea could've easily won with the final push, instead he threw a handful of infested terran. more then anything zerg has shitty stealth detection. scans are unstoppable and observers are at least stealthed, if the ghost weren't cloaked it was gg.
@ #31 - But ghosts are cloaked and zerg does have shitty detection. Not to mention T late game where he doesn't have to have any miners and just mules from his 50 orbitals and has 200 food max upgraded army.. it's not just the ghosts, it's the combination of everything. Terran is just so 'balanced' that it can take everything. Ghost and Terran in general is such a powerful race in the right hands. BratOK took a map off Nestea by just turtling up and doing this exact style, but massing RAVENS instead of ghosts. With upgraded everything, Nestea still couldn't do shit.
So I don't get it, zerg never beats terran?
On another note: fun game to watch!
