The opponent only lost 2 supply worth when you lost 4 supply during your 'drone flower'.
That move is only good when the opponent has less than what he had, like if he only sent lings, and if he's dumb enough to engage it. His spine also should've been moved/made by the mineral line to stop that from occuring too.
Him also not attacking you when you transferred wasn't good either.
He also didn't do an optimal 6 pool either (he should've 7 pooled and double extractored with single spine).
The 'best' response to someone who sends all his drones is just to base trade and make a spine at his base (preferably with a scouting drone, on larger maps they can kill pool before you get there so that's why you need scouting drone, or at least send once overlord confirms 6 pool).
You then have to take extreme care to rally lings out as much as you can. If he isn't able to kill enough coming out of the eggs, you will have enough to simply a-move and win once creep dissapears and spine has to uproot to stay alive as last bulding.
