Great games, but casters miss way too much action.



I'm an idiot. I watched it again, and discovered even more important action being missed. Guys... Casters, you do an "okay" analysis, but please pay attention to the mini map at all points in time.

It seems like you miss action on the map, every time you try to pull a joke off or blablablab about random shit.



I like how huk put up such a good fight in the last match. I almost thought he would make a comeback a few times.



Huk had some cute micro at points in the last game, but didn't really matter. I think double stargate is a much better response to muta than blink + cannons, although I understand his reluctance to throw them down since he already had blink started when he scouted the spire. Most of the best protoss do use the stargate strat vs. mutas these days.

I've been saying how IPL needs to replace these casters for a while now, glad to see I'm not crazy and that others share the sentiment.



To kind of expand on the blink vs. stargate thing, the reason stargate is so much better is the phoenix prevent the mutas from even coming on your side of the map at all once you have sufficient #.. whereas stalkers even with blink are too slow and he can still harass to some degree. The stalkers get slowed down by your own simcity/ramps when the mutas bounce between harassing your 3rd and main. And if he throws lings/roaches at your 3rd while muta harassing your main you have to make a perfect decision about how to split your army.. quite easy to mess that up, even at the pro level.

Once the muta threat is gone your phoenix are still useful later on since they can lift several infestors in big battles or snipe a broodlord or two if the BLs are ever out of position. Stalkers are useful later as well, but photon cannons in your base.. not so much.



either CPJ or doa is ok, get them together and they spend way too much time trying to be cute.

fatam, i think you're making stuff up. small group of phoenix beat small group of mutas, but not when the numbers get large. it's the same dynamic as stalkers vs. marines.



How embarrassing for EG they look like a bunch of clowns tripping over their own shoes.



Huk's control is just insane. It's amazing how scrappy he can be with so little. I really wanted to see him turn the tide....but Alas....Monster's early advantage was too big and he didn't let go of it too quickly.



Getting your whole team killed is unpleasant. Noone really got even close to beating him. I would like to add that Monster is proving to be just that, an amazing, new to "foreigner" circles zerg player.



I have to agree with @fatam, phoenixs seem to be a much better choice in Huk's match. He would'a cleaned up the mutas long ago already if he had only 7 phx to spare in addition to his crazy micro.

Though being said, it is rare for pro Zerg players to stick with mutas for this long these days. Can't that was a wrong decision going blink + storm.

Well everyone's entitled to their opinion, I'm just more or less translating into words what the leading protosses such as SaSe, Puzzle, etc. are doing right now



Thorzain and Huk played ok. Idra held on for a while but lost too many drones. Puma and JYP got smashed. But at least Puma did some good things in his game. Monster is a monster I guess.



What is it with Team EG? As soon as a good player joins, they instantly become bad! Thorzain, Huk, Puma.... none of them doing anything good these last weeks/ months. I think EG needs to rethink their practice/team spirit/pro-building atmosphere quite a bit. It can't always be idra in a Veyron....
